Lady Gaga is one weird chick. Dress it up any way you want. Sure, she's got talent, but what would she be without the makeup and costumes?
I have nothing against Lady Gaga, don't get me wrong. I just wonder what she's REALLY like after all the hype is removed, alone, just a person.
Here's a run down of what she had to say on 60 minutes:
Anderson Cooper conducts the interview, stating that Lady Gaga is nominated for 6 awards at the Grammy's tonight. Her real name is Stephanie Gerramanda, (gotta check that spelling.) Lady Gaga says people she knows call her Stephanie, especially in bed.
She says she never gets used to the papparazi. Anderson Cooper comments on her 10 inch heels.
They went to a small pub in London, for a drink. "I'm a master at the art of fame." Lady Gaga says. Cooper comments that some of Lady Gaga's performances are reminiscent of Madonna's, but she's more outrageous. She never lip syncs. Then there is footage of Gaga at one of her concerts, where she tells her fans that she wants them to let go of all their insecurities, and the camera shows some fans crying, they truly love her. Anderson says Gaga is a true performance artist. She says she is a student of art form. She says she has studied the physiology of fame, and how to get people to focus on her what she wants them to, which is part of what the costumes are about, so they won't concentrate on her personal life.
"Everybody wants to see the decay of a superstar," Lady Gaga tells Cooper. She was doing a lot of cocaine and dropped out of college 5 or 6 years ago. They visited the building she used to live in, pretty low rent. The renters wouldn't open the door to her old apartment. She says he felt disenfranchised at her Catholic girls school. "I was able to leave such a massive amount of insecurities behind when I left that name," speaking of her real name. She admits she smokes a lot of pot. (People who aren't insecure don't need to get high, just my opinion.)
"I have built good will with my fans, they know who I am. I am just like them." Lady Gaga says. "People take me way too seriously, then not seriously enough."
