Fantasy Football

This will be the fifth year my husband has played fantasy football. I thought it would be a one or two year hobby, but it has become an obsession. He and his buddies get together to have their fantasy draft, where they drink beer and pretend to be managers of football teams that do not really exist. During fantasy season, we get at least four phone calls each day from my husband’s friends to talk to him about teams that don’t really exist. He even added a new sports package to our direct TV so that he does not miss a single game. I like to call myself a fantasy widow for four months of the year while my husband uses every spare minute looking online to see how his team is doing. I have even considered making a t shirt that says “fantasy widow.” I actually think the whole concept of fantasy football is interesting and would not mind it so much if it were not so time-consuming. I guess I need to find a hobby that is equally time-consuming and maybe as annoying to him.

The Age of Natural Cosmetics
I was thinking this morning as I applied my makeup, which is all Natural Cosmetics, how great it is that we are living in the age of fresh and natural when it comes to just about everything. The watchword of the day for makeup is fresh, and also clean. No longer do women need to apply a mask to look and feel beautiful.

Emmys 2011 Live, as Seen Through Celebrities' Smartphones
We all love technology right? Sometimes I wonder, like right now, as I try to watch the Emmy's and keep up with the online chat about the show at the same time. I was going to blog live about it, but there are so many high traffic blogs doing so I figured I'd find the best of their posts and share them over the next few days. They have the better pics too.
My computer just doesn't seem to have the juice it needs. It's too slow. I thought it was my DSL speed, but I am beginning to think that is not the case. I do not have much money to spend on a computer, sure cannot afford a new one, so I am checking out some refurbished computers while I watch the Emmy's on TV.

His Leather, My Lace
Ladies, I don't know about you but my man is the total opposite of me. While I am girly, feminine, and like soft, serene and calm time, my fella is an outdoorsman. He loves fishing, hunting, and most especially his ATV, (all terrain vehicle.) In fact, this weekend he is attending a rally where guys, and some gals, come together and see how high they can climb and how muddy they can get. It's beyond me, this obsession he has with power, dirt, and the great outdoors, but what makes him happy makes me happy too. Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac said it best, "give to me your leather, take from me my lace."
For Christmas I am thinking of buying my true love one of these great bell helmets I found at a slashed price from Competition Accessories. I found a helmet which is regularly priced at $279.99 on sale for $120.00. You can't beat that and I really think I'm going to go for it. He is going to be SO thrilled!

When I think of fur coats for women I conjure a picture of Hollywood glamour. Plus Size Ladies, Gear Up for Winter
It is time to celebrate, Sweater Lovers. Sweater weather is upon us and I for one couldn't be happier. Sweaters are just the best, why they even have a history, with the "sweater girls" of the 50s. And it's no wonder that sweaters are still such much in style, they are classic.
For plus size ladies like me, (size 16 here and proud of it!) finding good quality sweaters that fit just right is quite the challenge. Plus Size Sweaters which are beautiful, high quality and affordable certainly don't grow on trees.
Fortunately, more and more retailers, like Jessica London, are arriving on the scene or creating Plus Size Sweaters and other plus size clothing for women that are truly gorgeous. It is about time. Doesn't it make your heart feel good to see the plus size models on the Dove commercials? And have you heard about the new show on cable, Big Sexy? Kind of a Sex in the City with plus size gals. I was thinking when I saw the preview of this new show how cool it would be if twiggies were out and plus size was in!
